Mosquito Fogging

The Shire of Wiluna will commence a mosquito fogging program on Tuesday 21st January.

The scheduled dates for mosquito fogging are as follows, however these dates may change if the weather does not permit fogging, such as wind and rain.

Tuesday 21 January 2025         Thursday 30 January 2025
Thursday 23 January 2025       Tuesday 4 February 2025
Tuesday 28 January 2025         Thursday 6 February 2025

Fogging time will be from 3.00 am to 5.30 am.

The fogging machine will be mounted on the back of a Shire Ute that will be traveling at a slow speed (walking pace). The Ute will cover all the streets and lane ways in the town site and out to Bondini.

The machine produces a muffled buzzing sound that may wake those light sleepers up.

Garrads Pyrethrin Drift Insecticide will be in use for the duration of the fogging period. It is recommended that during the time of fogging to stay indoors and avoid the fogging mist.

Weed Spraying

The Shire of Wiluna will commence a weed spraying program for three weeks, commencing Tuesday 14 January 2025.

The weed spraying period may extend if weather delays are experienced.

Spraying time will be from approximately sunrise (around 5.00 am) and will take about an hour.

Glyphosate will be in use for the duration of the weed spraying period.
